Rui António Nobre Moreira graduated in Mechanical Engineering, a branch of Applied Thermodynamics, from the Instituto Superior Técnico of Lisbon, in 1973, and completed a doctorate in History and Philosophy of Sciences from the University of Lisbon in 1993 with the thesis “Contribution to the study of the origins of the complementarity principle”. Since 1985, he has been Assistant Professor in the Physics Department of the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon. From 2007 he is professor at the Autonomous Section of History and Philosophy of Science.
